Project Revelations is an interactive textile concept which enhances and tells the story of rich heritage and process behind traditional Ikkat textiles of India.The soundscape of the lifecycle of the fabric is woven into a pattern in the textile itself using traditional techniques. This comes alive on interaction at close quarters. 

 

The work can be placed in relationship to the idea of textiles as ‘living interfaces’- interfaces that we adorn ourselves with, touch, feel and use as our second skin and that make us a part of the stories they tell. The intention is to breathe life into these fabricated structures that withhold stories and are heirlooms of rich cultural heritage and tradition.
